Our story

Why "HUG"?

Think about the feeling of walking into a cool house after a long day in 104° heat, or stepping out of a warm shower on a foggy January morning into a cozy home. That feeling of comfort, of being taken care of, is what a good heating and cooling system should give you. It feels a lot like a hug.

We started HUG Heat & Air to give our neighbors that feeling, along with a better service experience. Too many people have had a bad run-in with a contractor: the no-show, the vague estimate, the technician who pushes a $15,000 system when a part would have done the job. We built our company to be the opposite of that.

Our bear says it all: a big, friendly grizzly (California's state animal) giving an air conditioner a hug in front of the Sacramento skyline. We're local, we care, and we're here for the long haul.

What we believe

Our promises to you

These aren't slogans. They're how we run every call, whether it's a $150 repair or a whole-home system.

Honesty first

We tell you what we found, what your options are, and what we'd do in your shoes, even if it means a smaller ticket for us.

Clear, upfront prices

You approve the price before we start. If something unexpected comes up, we stop and talk to you first.

Respect for your time

We show up when we say we will, and we call ahead. If we're running late, you'll hear it from us.

Respect for your home

Shoe covers, drop cloths, and a clean workspace when we leave. Always.

Work done right

Proper sizing, proper charging, proper testing. We don't cut corners where you can't see them.

Neighbors helping neighbors

We live and work in this community. Our reputation here is everything to us.
